Our Stylist Says

I love this smoked glass vase for its versatile, contemporary charm. Its smoky hue and organic shape make it a great choice for modern or industrial interiors, adding depth and interest without overwhelming a space. It works particularly well with minimalist arrangements of single-stem flowers or foliage, allowing the colour and form of the vase to shine through. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral-toned floral displays or placing it on a contrasting surface like light wood or marble to enhance its smoky tone. It’s also a good piece to incorporate into shelves or mantle displays where its silhouette can be appreciated, making it a practical yet stylish addition to a variety of interiors.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
