This building falls on my cycle route back home, and being right at the signal, gives me a lot of time to look up and admire the block of stacked up cubes. George Finch's masterpiece the Lambeth Towers is made up of 10 storeys of flats set over a luncheon club and doctor's surgery, inspired by the work of Moshe Safdie and built at the same time as Safdie's Habitat blocks for the Montreal Expo of 1967. Each flat was individually articulated within a cranked concrete frame that maximised the tight site, creating a strong, square patterning that evoked Piet Mondrian's paintings.
The Lambeth Towers London print is a vibrant and contemporary piece that brings a splash of colour and urban character to any space. I love it because it works particularly well in modern or eclectic interiors, adding visual interest without overwhelming the room. It’s versatile enough for a living room gallery wall or as a statement on its own in a home office or hallway. For styling, try pairing it with sleek, minimalist frames and complementing colours from the print with cushions or accessories to tie the look together. Its A3 size makes it practical for smaller walls, ensuring it’s eye-catching but still fits comfortably into various room sizes.
