I’m a fan of this La Roque cabinet for its deep mahogany tone and solid proportions - it immediately grounds a room and offers plenty of concealed storage alongside open shelves for AV kit. It sits naturally in traditional, country-house or farmhouse interiors, but pairs just as well with more pared-back, modern pieces if you want a touch of warmth in an otherwise minimalist scheme. Styling tip: use woven baskets or boxes in the lower compartments to hide remotes and cables, while the central shelves can display a couple of statement books or a slim soundbar. Hang art or a mirror at eye level above, and keep the surrounding colour palette neutral or in muted greens and blues to let the rich wood finish take centre stage.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
