Designer and architect Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) embodied modernity and avant-garde throughout the 20th century... This table lamp features a coloured glass lampshade and is a relaunch of the original model designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1965. Le Corbusier’s colleague favours simplicity and usability over luxury. Charlotte Perriand's Desk Lamp was born from an order by the famous French glassworks Boussois, in 1965, for whom she created a wall light intended to illuminate the faces reflected in the mirror of a piece of furniture. The wall light was then produced in table lamp version in a secondary phase. Now, the collection is expanding with the reading light version. The light grey steel rod is anchored into a dark grey base. The lampshade is made with translucent, coloured pressed glass, whilst the interior features a white finish, preserving the natural colour of the light. The Desk Lamp represents an important exercise in streamlining the traditional table lamp.
