Created by the Belgian architect and designer Pierric de Coster, the L1 floor lamp is a contemporary, minimalist light sculpture. De Coster carries the legacy of minimalists Maarten Van Severen and Donald Judd deep in his heart. Thanks to its tall, architectural silhouette, the L1 floor lamp won’t go unnoticed even in large spaces, whether in private or public interiors. The L1 floor lamp consists of two slender aluminium tubes standing side by side, rising to 190 cm in height. One of the cylinders has a dimmable LED unit that directs light to the adjacent unit. The latter in turn reflects the light, creating a floating luminous glow in the middle. The result: a vertical sculpture with a zephyr-like glow floating in its centre. De Coster's goal is to create tension in space with an absolute minimum of means.
I really like this tall LED floor lamp for its sleek, modern aesthetic and versatile appeal. Its minimalist aluminium finish means it effortlessly complements contemporary and urban interiors, from minimalist living rooms to chic offices. The height and slim profile allow it to slot into corners or next to seating without overwhelming the space, making it a practical choice for adding ambient lighting. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned furniture for a clean look, or contrasting it with textured fabrics or colourful accessories for a more layered, eclectic feel. It’s a reliable, understated piece that lends sophistication and functionality, perfect for creating a soft, inviting glow in various interior styles.
