Description

Design. Designed by Matthew Hilton and launched in 2009, the striking and functional L. Ercolani Treviso Desk boasts a rich, substantial character of durability, sophistication and timelessness. Displaying an angular, geometric form, this desk has a unique oblique profile with tilted wooden legs and hardly seen built-in drawers and a hidden compartment underneath for a minimalistic, seamless finish. With plenty of room for laptops, books, stationery and any decorative objects you wish, this desk allows you to get on with your work comfortably with everything you need right by your side. Available ina pale oak and rich walnut.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Treviso desk for its clean, understated design and versatile neutral tone, making it a perfect addition to both contemporary and Scandi-inspired interiors. Its compact size and clever storage drawers help keep your workspace organised without cluttering the room. It works particularly well in home offices or smaller spaces where a minimalist aesthetic is desired. For styling tips, consider pairing it with a sleek desk chair, adding a statement desk lamp, and keeping accessories intentional-think a simple tray or a few well-chosen office essentials. Its light wood finish also allows for easy layering with textured textiles or colourful accents to add personality without overpowering the room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
