Description

Oozing total elegance and refinement, the L.Ercolani Reprise Chair, Hide Seat, Walnut is a collaborative effort between Lucian Ercolani and Norm Architects who have become known for their subtle minimalism. Combining the classic appeal of authentic Scandi design with the serviceable fundamentals of form and functionality, it was loosely inspired by Danish design from the 1950s. With graceful, clean features from the finely carved spindles made with the traditional woodturning and steam bending techniques to the luxurious and soft hide seat, this chair offers reliable comfort throughout. Choose between a variety of different coloured hide seats, while also available with an ash frame for a softer touch.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, contemporary vibe combined with a touch of natural warmth. The hide seat offers both durability and a sophisticated texture, making it a versatile option for various interiors. It works particularly well in minimalist, Scandi, or modern schemes where clean lines and understated elegance are key. For styling, consider pairing it with soft textiles and subtle metallic accents to soften its striking silhouette, or position it as a statement piece in a reading nook or alongside a neutral sofa. Its black frame provides a good contrast against light, muted palettes, and it can also add depth to darker, richer colour schemes. Practical tip: its size makes it a flexible choice, suitable for smaller spaces or as an occasional seat in a larger living area.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
