Description

Design. Rustic yet refined, the Kriss sideboard is carefully crafted from solid wood, with a natural finish that brings warmth and character to the home. Suitably durable, the Acacia displays raw tones and markings that are unique to each piece. Beautiful brass inlays lend a look of symmetry to the irregular splits of the timber, echoed in the sideboard’s clean lines and sleek splayed legs. Spacious inside, the sideboard features two compartments with a fixed shelf for easy organisation. Stunning when dressed up with complementary brass accessories, the Kriss effortlessly enhances modern, traditional and industrial interiors.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard because of its warm, rich brown finish and sleek, minimalist design, making it versatile for a range of interiors. It works particularly well in mid-century modern or Scandi-inspired spaces, but can also add a touch of warmth to more eclectic or traditional settings. Practical styling tips include pairing it with simple ceramics or a well-chosen statement lamp on top, and using its ample storage to keep clutter away while displaying a few favourite books or decorative objects for a personalised touch. Its clean lines and understated elegance make it a smart addition to living rooms, dining areas, or even bedrooms, offering both style and function.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
