Description

Beautifully blending the natural finish of its wood with black metal legs, the Kriss dining table is a stunning piece defined by industrial edge.;Displaying rich tones, irregular shapes and individual markings, the durable solid Acacia top lends a unique look to dining areas of any colour or style. Stylish brass inlays in a cross formation neatly join the splits in the wood, providing an elegant touch of detail. With sharp splayed legs and a taste of mid-century, the Kriss will ensure you love mealtimes more than ever.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its simple, natural aesthetic that can complement both contemporary and rustic interiors. Its raw, wooden top adds warmth and texture, making it versatile for open-plan living or more traditional dining spaces. The contrast between the live-edge surface and the sleek black legs creates an understated elegance that can be styled effortlessly with minimal or layered table settings. For practical styling, consider pairing it with mid-century chairs or upholstered seats to enhance its organic look. Additionally, adding a statement centrepiece or a runner can help define the space without overpowering the table’s natural charm. Overall, it’s a flexible choice that works well in both relaxed and sophisticated dining environments.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
