Price History

Description

Design. Rustic and industrial, the Kriss 200cm dining table is crafted from solid acacia wood and detailed with beautiful brass inlays. Following the natural shape of the tree's timber, the live edge of the table top offers an irregular and contemporary look to the modern home. Beautifully smooth, the wood is finished by hand to ensure exceptional quality. By preserving the natural curves of the tree, this live edge dining table retains real character, further enhanced by its unique markings and cracks.

Our Stylist Says

This dining table strikes a great balance between contemporary and rustic styles, making it versatile for a variety of interiors. I love how the warm brown wood lends instant character and a welcoming feel, while the clean-lined black legs keep it modern and sleek. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens or dining rooms with minimalist or Scandinavian decor, where it can anchor a space without overwhelming it. For styling, consider pairing it with a mix of upholstered chairs and metallic accents for added texture, or keep it simple with turned wooden chairs for a more traditional look. To maximise practicality, add a runner or coasters to protect the surface, and opt for pendant lighting above for a well-lit, inviting dining area.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
