Kappa vase 16 cm, from Swedish brand Kosta Boda, is made from recycled glass and mouth-blown at Kosta Glasbruk in the Swedish province of Småland. Due to the pigment in the recycled glass fragments, each of these grey and blue coloured vases is completely unique. The Kappa vase is created by designer Mimmi Blomqvist, and gets its name (meaning "coat" in Swedish) from the "bubble" that forms around the vase's walls during production. The vase was developed by Mimmi Blomqvist, based on a drinking glass that she made during her first course at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. The soft, flowing design makes this vase beautiful with or without flowers. If you choose to put flowers in the vase, the narrow mouth will ensure that they hold together well.
I love the Kosta Boda Kappa vase for its clean, contemporary silhouette and versatility in a range of interiors. Its clear glass looks effortlessly chic and works well in modern, minimalist spaces, as well as more eclectic or Scandinavian-inspired settings. Practical styling tips include using it as a standalone piece on a sideboard or mantel to showcase its shape, or filling it with fresh or dried flowers for added colour and texture. For a more sophisticated look, pairing it with other textured or opaque vessels can create visual interest without overwhelming the decor. Its simple form and transparency make it adaptable, allowing it to blend seamlessly into various styles while adding a touch of understated elegance.
