Description
A true design classic, Eero Saarinen’s oval Tulip Dining Table for Knoll took Saarinen five years to develop in a quest to combat the “slum of legs” commonly found underneath tables. Its beautifully curved base and refined bevelled table top cement this design as a defining accomplishment of modern aesthetics. Select the large edition if you’re looking to seat up to eight people, or opt for extra-large to seat up to ten guests.

I love the Saarinen marble table for its streamlined tulip base and rich Verdi Alpi top, which brings a sculptural yet grounded presence to a dining space. The black pedestal contrasts beautifully with the green veining, creating an instant focal point without overwhelming the room.
It works particularly well in modern or transitional schemes - think pared-back cabinetry or muted wall panelling. Pair it with slim black or dark-wood chairs to echo the base, or use brass pendants above to pick up on the marble’s depth. Keep centrepiece décor minimal: a ceramic vase, a linen runner and a few candles will let the stone’s pattern breathe.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
