Designed by Ariadna Miquel and Nani Marquina for the eponymous design house nanimarquina, the small Knitted Rug in a natural hue would transform any living area. Expertly hand woven on a loom by skilled artisans, the contemporary Knitted Rug is created using locally sourced hand spun jute fibre that evokes earthy textures and strips home décor back to the basics. Woven using the traditional Soumak technique, the rustic rug would enhance any surface with its braided texture and fresh finish. Founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, nanimarquina blends contemporary designs with traditional techniques to create unique and eye-catching handcrafted rugs. Committed to supporting the artisans who create its rugs, nanimarquina offers improved living standards, new opportunities and is fully confident that no child labour was involved in the process of creating its beautiful rugs. Conscious of its societal and environmental impact, nanimarquina places ethics at the forefront of its production process. Passionate about reusing, reducing and recycling, it aims to preserve natural resources through the use of biodegradable and recycled products. It uses an eco-friendly chemical-free washing method that enriches the environment with nitrogen and uses less water than traditional cleaning methods.
