Description

In a classic-modern style, the Kinvarra Ladder Back Dining Chair has a timeless look through a rustic morning mist finish and a minimalist design that complements a range of interior décors. Expertly crafted from reclaimed wood with a super-comfortable cushioned seat, the Kinvarra Ladder Back Dining Chair is perfectly matched with a Kinvarra Extending Dining Table to add a charming focal point to any dining room.

Our Stylist Says

I love this ladder back dining chair because of its rustic charm combined with a comfortable upholstered seat, making it versatile for both country-style and eclectic interiors. It works particularly well in kitchens or dining rooms with a cosy, relaxed feel, where a mix of vintage and modern pieces can create a curated look. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a distressed or wooden dining table to emphasise its rustic appeal, or dressing the seat with removable cushions for added comfort and colour accents. To keep the look balanced, consider complementing it with other natural materials like linen or cane, and avoid overly sleek or modern decor that might clash with its traditional vibe.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
