The Kilo nest is a versatile and lightweight set of side tables with powder-coated steel tops and lacquered solid oak legs with feature finger joints. Designed by Elling Ekornes and Trine Haddal Hovet, and exclusive to Habitat, the versatile tables are easy to assemble and can also be used beside a bed. The design is part of the Kilo range of tables in an assortment of shapes, sizes and colours.

Our Stylist Says

This set of nested tables is a versatile choice for modern and contemporary interiors, offering both practicality and visual interest. I love how the mix of solid oak top and grey metal legs brings a balance of warmth and industrial edge, making them suitable for living rooms, offices, or even bedrooms. They’re perfect for creating flexible surfaces - you can use the larger one as a coffee table or side table, and tuck the smaller ones away when not in use. Styling-wise, they work well layered with textured textiles, plants, or decorative trays to add personality. I recommend pairing them with neutral-toned sofas or muted colour schemes to keep the look sleek and understated, but they can also stand out as statement pieces in more eclectic schemes. Practical tips include keeping surface essentials on top or draping a cosy throw over the smallest for a relaxed, lived-in vibe.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
