Description

Crafted from solid white oak, this dining table celebrates the natural beauty and strength of one of the most enduring hardwoods. The distinctive grain patterns and warm tonal variation of white oak give each piece its own character, making the table a timeless centerpiece that feels both refined and welcoming.  The table makes a striking statement with its sculptural star-shaped legs, blending natural warmth with a bold, modern design for a truly eye-catching centerpiece.  The table is finished with a solvent-based NC lacquer that enhances the wood’s natural depth and texture while delivering a smooth, elegant surface. This finish adds a subtle, polished sheen that brings out the richness of the grain. The result is a dining table that balances durability with sophistication—perfect for everything from casual family meals to memorable gatherings, and designed to remain beautiful for years to come.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its contemporary take on rustic style, with the warm brown oak finish adding natural texture to any space. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens or dining rooms that marry modern and traditional elements. The 180cm length makes it versatile for both everyday family meals and entertaining guests. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned seating to let the wood grain stand out, or add colourful or patterned chairs for a more eclectic look. Keep accessories minimal to enjoy the table’s natural beauty, and consider a statement pendant light overhead to create a welcoming centrepiece. Its sturdy construction also means it’s practical for daily use, making it a smart choice for a stylish yet functional dining area.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
