This wide 5 drawer chest of drawers is practical and stylish. Perfect for any home as a free standing storage unit. The Kent range uses traditional edge finishes and wood effect tops, to create a range of classic looking furniture pieces. Contrasting finishes create the tonal variations seen here with brushed steel handle mounted on wood grained fronts. All our furniture is made in the United Kingdom, to the highest quality. It is delivered direct to your location of choice by one of our two man delivery teams, and come full assembled (although legs may be removed to prevent damage in transit).

I’m a big fan of this Kent chest in dusk grey with a Bardolino oak top because it combines clean lines with a subtle contrast of colour and texture. Its muted grey drawers suit modern Scandi or minimalist schemes, while the warm oak surface adds just enough natural interest for a contemporary or industrial-style bedroom. Styling-wise, keep the top clear except for one or two low objects - think a slim ceramic vase with foliage or a sleek metal lamp - to let the oak shine through. Inside the drawers, use simple fabric organisers in matching neutrals to maximise storage without clutter. Positioned against a pale wall and paired with muted textiles, it’ll anchor your room without overwhelming the space.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth.
