Named after Thierry Hermès, founder of French luxury brand Hermès, the Thierry Side Table is a family of highly characteristic occasional tables that make an inspired use of colour, designed by Piero Lissoni for Kartell.

I’m a fan of the Thierry side table for its pared-back profile and glossy black finish, which gives a subtle nod to modernist design without overwhelming a space. It sits equally well in minimalist living rooms, sleek home offices or as a low-profile bedside table in a monochrome bedroom.
Styling-wise, keep it simple: a small stack of coffee-table books topped with a sculptural vase or ceramic lamp. Its reflective top also works well alongside soft textiles - try it on a textured rug or beside a linen sofa to balance cool lacquer with warmer surfaces.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
