I’m a fan of the Kartell Spoon desk for its clean lines and lightweight feel - the all-white top and legs keep a workspace bright without looking bulky. Its moulded plastic top is hard-wearing and easy to wipe down, so it suits busy home offices or compact city flats where you need style and practicality in equal measure.
Pair it with a simple metal or timber task chair and add a pop of colour via a desk lamp or pen pots. A small potted plant or two will soften the look, while a slim wall shelf above gives you extra storage without eating into floor space. A textured rug underneath can help zone off the workspace in an open-plan room.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
