Description

Design. The Kalmer Fixed Industrial Table will transform your dining space with its contemporary and industrial design. The light grey concrete top sits upon striking X-shaped legs, creating a contrast you can’t miss. With monochromatic tones, this table will easily blend with all colour schemes whilst keeping its refined sophisticated appearance. Comfortably sitting up to four people, the Kalmer Fixed Industrial Table is certainly a conversation starter with your guests.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its striking industrial aesthetic-its concrete top combined with black metal legs makes it a versatile statement piece. It works particularly well in contemporary, urban, or loft-style interiors, but can also add an unexpected touch of rugged sophistication to more eclectic or minimal spaces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral or monochrome chairs to highlight its modern vibe, or contrasting with warm textiles like wooden or upholstered seating for a softer look. Keep accessories simple; a minimalist centrepiece or geometric vegetable bowl can complement its sleek, utilitarian design without cluttering the visual impact. This table’s durable finish makes it perfect for everyday use, while its style can be effortlessly dressed up or down depending on your decor choice.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
