A dramatic angle to the line of the P-shaped arms gives our Kalmar armchair its contemporary silhouette. Feather filled back and base cushions offer comforting support which, combined with the relaxed tilt to the seat, encourage a laid back perch. I’m a big fan of this striped armchair for its tailored yet relaxed feel - the cotton stripe brings just the right amount of pattern without overwhelming a room. It sits equally well in a coastal-inspired lounge or a modern farmhouse sitting room, pairing neatly with weathered wood side tables and soft, neutral rugs.
For styling, lean into textures: layer a chunky knit throw over one arm and add a lumbar cushion in a contrasting shade, such as ochre or soft grey, to pick out the stripe.
