The Kalendi pattern is the work of German-born artist Sabine Finkenauer. The minimalist, colourful forms that appear in her work represent an artistic journey from figurative to abstract, while evoking memories of familiar, everyday shapes. Named after the artist’s late cat, the shape of Kalendi reminds us of a chalice. This artwork is part of a series created using oil pastels on paper using a technique that involves both drawing and stamping. Sabine used an iron to transfer the designs from one sheet of paper to another. Cheerful, chic and graphic, the collection of Marimekko cushion covers brightens up your interior! Their original patterns blend together wonderfully. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours, for a house full of inspiration! PLEASE NOTE:Cushion cover sold on its own: the filling is sold separately.
