Description

Distinctively mid-century in style, the Joseph collection includes a stylish armchair and footstool. The high wing back armchair comes with a soft feather filled cushion and, when combined with the gently sloping footstool, is the ideal place to relax with a good book. This bespoke collection can be upholstered in a range of luxe fabrics to suit your style. Pictured: armchair and footstool in Navy Blue Classic Velvet. Handmade in 8-10 weeks and then delivered usually within 10 working days. All pieces from this collection will be delivered without the legs attached. Our delivery specialists will assemble your item for you and take away the packaging.

Our Stylist Says

I love this armchair because the deep blue velvet adds a touch of luxe and sophistication, making it a versatile piece that can elevate a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in both modern and traditional schemes, adding colour without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with textured cushions or a throw to soften the look, and positioning it near a good reading light or beside a statement piece like a brass side table, as shown here. The dark hue also helps hide minor stains, making it a practical choice for both formal lounges and cosy corners.

About Graham & Green

Founded in 1974, Graham & Green are a family business that started in Notting Hill, and have many pieces that bring touch of individuality and character to any space.

The Inception of a Lifestyle Brand

In 1974, Antonia started Graham & Green after a trip to India. She wanted to be independent and worked with traders from different countries. This led her to create the UK's first 'lifestyle' brand, bringing unique home items from places like India, Morocco, and Europe.

The first Graham & Green store opened in Notting Hill in 1974, showcasing Antonia's special collection of items from around the world. You can still visit this original store on Elgin Crescent today.

Evolution through Generations

Graham & Green has a rich history full of important moments. In 1980, they started creating hand-drawn mail-order catalogues to share their store's charm with more people.

They opened a new store in Primrose Hill in 1994, reflecting the brand's playful and free nature.

Antonia's son, Jamie, took a creative lead in 1998. Having studied at Kingston University, he began designing unique furniture collections, shifting Graham & Green from not only importing items but also creating them.

Then, in 1999, Graham & Green launched their first website, allowing people all across the UK to shop their collections online.

Milestones and Memories

Over time, Graham & Green has marked its journey with special products, like unique Birthday items with lovebird designs. After Antonia led the brand for 37 years, Jamie and Lou took over, pushing Graham & Green to grow even more.

They opened big stores in Bayswater and Bath in 2016. By 2018, Graham & Green updated their website to keep it modern and stylish for their customers.
