Meet our X-Ray bar chair. Created for us by Danish design duo Says Who, renowned for compelling details and expert woodworking. Minimalism meets sculptural form: taking cues from Scandi-inspired design, its sleek frame is carved from solid and veneered oak with rounded edges and a subtle curve in the seat. We've added hardwearing woven polyester upholstery for comfort. When today's world places emphasis on flexible living, this chair really comes into its own. Want to see it first? I’m a big fan of John Lewis’s oak bar stool - its slim, folding frame makes it ideal for compact kitchens or breakfast bars without sacrificing style. The light-oiled finish and neutral fabric seat suit Scandi, modern or transitional interiors, while the understated design means it can sit comfortably alongside bolder stools or pendant lighting. For practical styling, keep the palette simple: pair with marble or matt-black worktops, then soften the look with a woven footrest rug or a couple of muted linen cushions. When you need extra seating, it folds away easily, so it’s both versatile and space-wise.

For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
