Description

Bring a sense of the ocean into your home. Complete with striking hues of blue, this William Vanscoy photographic print is unglazed and finished with a hand-applied artist's texture gel. Arrives ready to hang on your wall. In an attempt to capture the transitory beauty of life and nature, William Vanscoy's work merges the traditional and digital photographic landscape. His goal is to create a serene self-expressive image that reflects the wonder and peace found in his experiences in life. He believes it's not what's seen but what's expressed that makes photographic art. William's photographs are made using digital capture and extensive digital post-production, sometimes combining multiple photographs to create one realistic image. He was born in San Mateo California (1946) and attended and graduated from the Brooks Institute School of Photography (1976-1979), with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He worked as a professional commercial product photographer in Los Angeles (1979-2004) and has displayed and promoted fine art images since 1996. After changing to large-format view cameras, he embraced manmade and natural landscape, attempting to emulate artists like Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. While working in Los Angeles as a commercial photographer, Vanscoy stayed connected to his own fine art, taking time to photograph in the American Southwest and Europe. In 2002 he made his final commercial image and moved to the southern coast of Oregon.

Our Stylist Says

The John Lewis William Vanscoy 'All I Have To Give' framed print is a versatile piece that works particularly well in contemporary or coastal-inspired interiors thanks to its calming blue and grey palette. Its large size makes it a statement piece, ideal for positioning above sofas, beds, or mantels to create a focal point. To style it effectively, pair it with neutral or simple furnishings to let the artwork stand out, and consider installing it at eye level for maximum impact. A sleek black frame adds a modern touch, making it suitable for minimalist schemes or more eclectic rooms where it can add depth and colour. Overall, it’s a great way to introduce a peaceful, natural vibe into a living space or bedroom.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
