Description

Effortlessly adding style to your home with a classic, striped pattern, this rug is made from 100% wool so you get the benefit of both softness and strength. This rug is loomed by hand, a traditional shuttle process in which material is laced together to create a strong and durable weave. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor As this rug is made using natural fibres, shedding is to be expected. This will reduce over time, and shouldn’t affect your rug’s lifespan or performance. When you first get your rug, please use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner whilst the shedding dies down. After that, when vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres. Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Latex backed therefore not suitable for underfloor heating. Specialist cleaning recommended. Attend to spillages immediately and blot with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining. Dilute a small amount of appropriate carpet shampoo in water. Dampen a colourfast cloth in the diluted shampoo solution and dab the rug, lightly agitating, moving in the direction of the pile. Treat the whole rug and not just the affected area. To restore the appearance of the affected area, use a soft bristled brush to gently comb in the direction of the pile. Allow the rug to thoroughly dry.

Our Stylist Says

I love this runner for its bright, fresh Duck Egg tones and lively variegated stripe pattern, which add visual interest without overwhelming a space. It works particularly well in coastal, Scandinavian, or casual interiors where a pop of colour and pattern can lift the overall look. Practical styling tips include layering it over neutral or wooden flooring to highlight the blue hues, or pairing it with white or light-toned furniture for a clean, airy feel. Keep foot traffic in mind - it’s ideal in hallways or smaller spaces where an easy-to-maintain, versatile piece can make a real impact. This rug is a smart, stylish choice that brings character and warmth to a variety of interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
