Description

Designed by Swoon, made by us. With a shared commitment to exceptional design and quality, we've collaborated to create an exclusive furniture collection for the modern home. The Lovelace bar cart is inspired by the modernist architecture of the famous De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea. Crafted with one marble and one glass shelf, it provides a beautiful base for your barware and bottles, while its carefully curved brass-toned frame lends an Art Deco-inspired contrast. Easy to transport between rooms thanks to metal castors, it's the entertaining piece you need at your next dinner party. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this John Lewis + Swoon Lovelace marble shelf bar cart because it offers both style and practicality, making it a versatile addition to many interiors. Its elegant brass framework provides a warm metallic touch that works beautifully in contemporary, art deco, or even more traditional spaces, especially when paired with rich colours or marble accents. It’s perfect for adding a touch of glamour to a living room or dining area, but its compact size also makes it ideal for smaller spaces or as a statement piece in a corner. When styling, consider grouping glassware and select vintage or colourful bottles for visual interest; it also lends itself well to seasonal displays or personalised touches. Practical tip: keep it organised with a mix of functional bottle stoppers, coasters, or even a small tray on the marble top for quick access during gatherings.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
