Description

Product Information Art Deco-inspired Swept is beautifully proportioned with a fixed seat and back, framed by sweeping arms and finished with metal-capped legs. This version of the armchair also has a footrest mechanism for when you want to really kick back and put your feet up. Worth knowing… As leather is a natural product, there are natural characteristics on each leather hide used to make our sofas. These could be things like brand marks, insect bites or wrinkles. A large sofa could be made with as many as four hides so there may also be some slight colour variation, however, we have strict guidelines to make sure any noticeable marks aren't in a prominent place. These distinctive qualities also mean that no two pieces of leather furniture will be exactly the same. It's the little thingsWe care about our furniture; how it's designed, the materials used and the people who make it. That's why every detail is carefully considered, with more than 20 quality checks, to ensure you're as proud of it as we are. Try before you buyWe're confident in our furniture's quality, but it's always a good idea to check that it's a good personal fit for you. Our Stylist Says

I really like this armchair because of its sleek, modern silhouette combined with the classic leather finish, making it versatile for a range of interiors-from contemporary to more traditional schemes. The dark legs give it a grounded look, while the swivel mechanism and footrest add practicality and comfort. It works particularly well in minimalist or Scandinavian-inspired spaces, where clean lines and quality materials are key. For styling, consider pairing it with textured cushions or a cosy throw to soften the leather’s sleekness, and place it near a side table and a stylish lamp to create an inviting reading nook. Its compact size also makes it suitable for smaller living rooms or bedrooms, adding a touch of contemporary elegance without overwhelming the space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
