Description

This compact cabinet has a straight, slatted front and a curved, capsule shape. Made from a combination of oak veneers, solid oak and MDF, this sideboard provides plenty of storage space in both of its cupboard sections which each have an adjustable shelf. The slatted feature on the doors gives the design a visual lightness, a touch of texture and a distinctive finish that will stand out in your living space. Discreet wooden handles blend into the design, keeping the frame minimalist and streamlined. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this slatted cabinet for its clean, Scandinavian-inspired look that adds warmth and texture to any space. Its natural wood finish and vertical slats make it versatile, working particularly well in minimalist, modern, or boho interiors. Practical styling tips include pairing it with woven baskets on top for added organisation or integrating it into a neutral colour palette to allow its natural grains to shine. It’s also ideal for use in living rooms or hallways, where it can serve as both storage and a statement piece. Just keep in mind that its distinctive slats lend themselves best to styled displays that highlight its texture rather than cluttered arrangements.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
