Description

Our in-house designers used natural materials and clever craftsmanship to create this dining chair, which celebrates Scandinavian-inspired design. With a steam-bent, curved backrest and sleek, linear frame, its minimalist shape will help to enhance a relaxed style in your space. The cord seat is hand-woven from almost 190 metres of twisted paper cord for comfortable support. A lacquered coating ensures a durable and high-quality finish. The Black option is made from beech wood while the Natural option is made from ash wood. The Green and Red options have ash wood frames and beech plywood backrests. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love the John Lewis Scandi dining chair for its clean, minimalist design that instantly adds a modern Scandinavian feel to any space. Its combination of a painted green frame and natural wood seat makes it versatile enough to work well in both contemporary and pared-back interiors, especially when paired with light woods or neutral textiles. Practical styling tips include grouping these chairs around a wooden or glass table to maintain a fresh look, or using them as accent pieces in a breakfast nook or informal seating area. They're also durable and ergonomic, making them a great choice for everyday dining while still looking stylish.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
