The fibre used in the inner core has the correct balance between density and firmness to provide optimal spinal support and comfort for your child. Plus, it's free from any PVC or plasticisers being manufactured from recycled fibre ensuring kindness to both your baby and the environment. Good things to note when buying your mattress: Always check the mattress size you've bought is the correct one for the size of your crib/cot/cotbed before removing from the packaging. Please ensure to always store the mattress flat or in the crib/cot/cotbed, not upright. Due to the nature of shipping, (once the packaging has been removed and safely disposed of) please allow 24-48 hours for the mattress to settle before use. Please check that any fitted sheets used are the correct size for the mattress. Sheets that are too tight may compress the mattress, leaving a larger than is safe gap between the mattress and the cot. This also applies to sheets that may have shrunk in the wash. Always position your mattress in the centre of your cot/crib so that there is no more than a 30mm gap between the cot/crib and the mattress on the side, top, or bottom, once it has fully expanded. This allows the mattress to settle in use and leaves space for bedding. A gap on any side under 30mm is considered safe and acceptable. All our mattresses comply with the relevant standards - BS EN 16890:2017+ A1:2021 ; BS 1877-10:2011+A1:2012; BS 7177:2008+A1 2011

About John Lewis
A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
