Description

The sleek, minimalist design of our Odell dining chair would make a stylish addition to any dining table. Featuring a unique wrap-around armrest with a plush, fully upholstered seat pad for comfort. Crafted in Italy to exacting standards, the frame is made from sustainably sourced solid beech wood. Fabric information: Atlas is a plain boucle fabric made of 93% polyester and 7% cotton. It has a Martindale rub test of over 60,000 and is specifically designed for use in upholstery. Everest is also a plain boucle fabric consisting of 96% polyester and 4% acrylic. It also has a Martindale rub test of over 60,000 and is specifically designed for use in upholstery. The Atlas and Everest fabrics are boucle fabrics that align with the current trend of contemporary rounded furniture. They are commonly found in Scandinavian settings, often paired with fur to soften the look. Avellino is a new generation of easy-care textured weaves. Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of the Odell dining chair for its clean lines and gentle curve to the backrest, which feels supportive without bulk. The warm oak legs and deep green upholstery sit comfortably in Scandi-inspired, mid-century or Japandi schemes, and the muted tone makes it easy to layer with lighter woods or stone-effect tabletops. For a pulled-together look, pair two at the ends of a simple oak table and mix in plain-woven rush or linen-covered chairs along the sides. Keep surrounding accessories low and tactile - think a jute runner or ceramic vase - so the chair remains the focal point without the room feeling fussy.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
