Description

We've made this sturdy divan base from responsibly-sourced pine wood. Non-sprung, it's designed with a platform top which provides a firmer feel for sleepers who prefer more support. Practical and stylish, this divan base offers the ultimate storage solution helping you maximise your bedroom space. Divan base with recycled cotton panel The central/inner panel found on top of the divan base is made from recycled cotton fabric sourced from the Better Cotton initiative mass balance programme. This unbleached panel may help reduce any mattress movement on the divan. The breathable, natural fibre panel is fire resistant without the use of traditional FR chemicals. Choose from one of our fabrics: Our Band A fabric, Cotton Effect has a laid-back and fine-textured look that looks like cotton, but it's made from durable polyester fibres Our Band A fabric, Brushed Tweed is made with a brushed herringbone weave that has a cosy wool look and soft 'peach skin' feel. It's really hard-wearing and a brilliant all-rounder Our Band B fabric, Deep Velvet will bring warmth and luxury to your bedroom. It's a short pile velvet with a soft, plush feel Our Band B fabric, Soft Touch Chenille is made from a blend of fibres that give it a super-soft feel and added durability Our Band B fabric, Relaxed Linen gives you the fine texture of cotton, the durability of synthetic fibres and the laid-back look of linen Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this John Lewis non-sprung maxi divan base for its clean, streamlined look and versatility. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors due to its simple silhouette and neutral tone, helping to create a calm and uncluttered space. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a textured bedding or layered throws for added visual interest, and using under-bed storage solutions to maximise space. Its sturdy construction provides a reliable foundation for single beds, making it ideal for guest rooms or smaller bedrooms where functionality is key. Overall, it's a dependable choice that offers both style and practicality, effortlessly fitting into various interior schemes.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
