Description
Product Information The beautifully crafted Nest sofa has a mid-century style that compliments any interior. Design details A living room centrepiece Exposed wood frame Designer's notes"The Nest sofa draws reference from the John Lewis archive from the 1950’s - a golden age of modern design led by Robin and Lucienne Day. The refined show wood timber frames cradle the soft and inviting upholstered elements, creating a statement sofa. Designed with disassembly in mind, so components can be removed and replaced when needed. The exposed solid oak frame will wear well and get better with age. "Dan Rawlings, John Lewis DesignerWorth knowing… As leather is a natural product, there are natural characteristics on each leather hide used to make our sofas. These could be things like brand marks, insect bites or wrinkles. A large sofa could be made with as many as four hides so there may also be some slight colour variation, however, we have strict guidelines to make sure any noticeable marks aren't in a prominent place. These distinctive qualities also mean that no two pieces of leather furniture will be exactly the same. Owing to variations in computer screen resolution and settings, the fabric you receive may look slightly different to how it appears here. Our Stylist Says
I love how the John Lewis sofa’s light legs and rich leather give it a classic yet versatile look. It works well in both contemporary and traditional interiors, especially those with a neutral or warm colour palette. The leather’s durability and sophistication make it a practical choice for family living, while the light wooden legs add a touch of understated elegance. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with textured cushions or throws in complementary tones to soften the look and add personality. Alternatively, it looks great with minimalist accessories for a clean, modern vibe. Overall, it’s a piece that combines comfort with timeless style, making it a reliable foundation for a well-designed living space.

About John Lewis
A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
