Description

A pair of abstract prints by artist Natasha Barnes in complementary colours and artwork. These two square, mounted and glazed prints have matt frames and are ready to wall mount. Natasha Barnes is a self-taught fine artist from South Africa. Her natural talent and pure passion for painting have led Natasha to develop a profound style reflective of expressionism. The artist’s dynamic marriage of colour and texture, created via sophisticated mark-making, evokes a sense of fluidity, movement and a sense of a 'journey' in every piece. Natasha paints in water-based mediums and her inspirations often stem from her travels. Earthy tones reflect her South African roots and application is thick and sometimes textured. Her subject dictates the flow of the paint and forms take on an element of the unreal, moving into the world of abstraction. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?

Our Stylist Says

I love the John Lewis Natasha Barnes 'New Forms' set for its modern, abstract appeal that works well in contemporary and minimalist interiors. The blue tones add a cool, calming vibe, making these prints ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or home offices looking for a splash of colour without overwhelming the space. Their size is versatile for wall groupings or standalone statement pieces. For styling, consider pairing with neutral furnishings to let the artwork stand out or mixing with other monochrome or textured pieces for an eclectic look. Mounting these prints in simple frames like black or white helps maintain a clean, polished feel and keeps the focus on the artwork itself.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
