Our Mid-Century Sweep bed frame has a sleek, retro-inspired shape. Its streamlined profile marries soft curves and sharp lines, resting on tapered wooden legs. Sprung slats in the base provide additional support for you and your mattress. Built with Smart Slats This bed frame is designed with wider slats at the shoulders, lumbar and feet. They provide maximum support for you and your mattress so that you experience perfect spinal alignment while you sleep. The standard slat caps are black so we have added grey slat caps to ensure that you know where to place the wider slats. Choose from one of our fabrics: Our Band A fabric, Cotton Effect has a laid-back and fine-textured look that looks like cotton, but it's made from durable polyester fibres Our Band A fabric, Brushed Tweed is made with a brushed herringbone weave that has a cosy wool look and soft 'peach skin' feel. It's really hard-wearing and a brilliant all-rounder Our Band A fabric, Soft Weave has a casual cotton look with a brushed finish that's soft-to-touch and a suble texture that's created by slight variations in the tones of the woven fibres Our Band B fabric, Deep Velvet will bring warmth and luxury to your bedroom. I’m a fan of this sweep-style bed frame because its low, curving headboard and slim walnut legs bring a relaxed mid-century feel without overwhelming a room. It works just as well in a Scandi-minimal scheme as it does layered boho or pared-back contemporary interiors. To style it, choose crisp white or muted linen bedding and add one or two accent cushions in a soft print or vibrant hue. Position tapered-leg side tables in a similar wood tone and top with simple metal or ceramic lamps. A neutral wool rug underfoot will anchor the look, while a single piece of framed wall art above keeps the overall feel calm and uncluttered.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
