An abstract print by artist Mary Urban, unglazed and finished with a hand-applied artist's texture gel. Made in the UK, it's presented in a box frame, ready to hang on your wall. Growing up in the idyllic Vermont countryside, Mary Urban was encouraged by family and teachers to be an artist. At 18, she moved to Boston to study graphic design at the Massachusetts College of Art. The lure of her peaceful country home was too much and she returned to open an organic coffee and tea house with her brother. "Coffee, tea and cafe culture has always been a great passion to me, as it tends to bring communities and fellow artists together for conversations and the bouncing of bold ideas." Today, Mary is known for working in a variety of media and styles from illustrative to classic and more. Working outside surrounded by nature comes naturally, and she can often be found standing or sitting under a giant maple tree working on her next collection. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
The Mary Urban Sandy Balance print is a versatile piece that lends itself well to contemporary and modern interiors, adding a splash of colour and visual interest without overpowering a space. I love its layered, abstract shapes and the subtle shimmer of embellishment, which can create a more luxe feel when positioned above a console table or in a gallery wall. For practical styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned furniture to let the artwork stand out or combining it with other textured pieces for a curated, eclectic look. Its sizeable scale also makes it ideal for larger walls, acting as a focal point in living rooms or dining areas. Keep framing simple and sleek, such as a black or natural wood border, to complement the artwork's modern aesthetic.
