New York characters in silhouette walk beneath the Chrysler Building and other Midtown Manhattan skyscrapers in this work by artist Jon Barker. Presented in a wood-effect frame, ready to hang on your wall. Born in Yorkshire in 1950, Jon Barker obtained a BA in Business Studies at university in Edinburgh and pursued a career in marketing management. Over a 20-year period from his mid-20s to his mid-40s he trained himself to paint to a professional standard. At that point, he left marketing and started to sell his work. Initially, he concentrated on his love for landscape but in recent years he is increasingly associated with his successful 'City Life' series, which aims to capture the moods of major cities of the world and, often, their iconic landmarks. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I love the New York Crossing print for its urban sophistication and modern vibe. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, adding a touch of city life without overwhelming the space. Due to its sizeable scale, it’s ideal as a statement piece above a sofa, fireplace, or in a hallway to create visual interest. For styling tips, pair it with clean-lined furniture and neutral tones to let the artwork shine, or contrast it with belsemer-rich textures for a bold look. Its monochrome palette makes it versatile, so it easily integrates into various colour schemes, making it a great investment piece for adding personality and a sense of movement to your interior.
