In an intricate and colourful striped pattern, we designed this rug in our own in-house design studio. Created from a blend of durable fabrics, the geometric style makes it a great addition to a contemporary space. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor As this rug is made using natural fibres, shedding is to be expected. This will reduce over time, and should not have an impact on the lifespan or performance of your rug. When you first get your rug, please use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner whilst the shedding dies down. After that, when vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres. When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Textile backed Attend to spillages immediately and blot with a clean, dry cloth to prevent staining. Dilute a small amount of appropriate carpet shampoo in water. Dampen a colourfast cloth in the diluted shampoo solution and dab the rug, lightly agitating, moving in the direction of the pile. Treat the whole rug and not just the affected area. To restore the appearance of the affected area, use a soft bristled brush to gently comb in the direction of the pile. Allow the rug to thoroughly dry.
I love the John Lewis Hive Rug in gold for its modern yet versatile design. Its subtle, geometric pattern adds texture without overwhelming a space, making it suitable for both contemporary and neutral interiors. It's particularly effective in light-filled living areas or bedrooms where it can bring warmth and a touch of luxury. When styling, consider pairing it with natural fibres or minimalist furniture to let the rug be a statement piece, or layer it with textured cushions and throws for added dimension. Practical tip: in high-traffic areas, choose a rug pad to prevent slipping and keep it looking fresh longer.
