We’ve made the headboard a defining design element of the Fluted bed frame, adding extra padding to give the bed an elegant, curved side profile and giving even more depth to the flutes. Finished with a tapered dark stain leg to ensure the bed looks just as good in both traditional and contemporary rooms. Made from high-quality timbers. Its sprung slats provide a more supportive foundation for your mattress. Assembly service Our assembly service is included in the selling price for our Made to Order beds. At the same time as delivery, we'll build your new bed and place it in your room of choice. We'll take away all of the packaging too, for recycling. Built with Smart SlatsThis bed frame is designed with wider slats at the shoulders, lumbar and feet. They provide maximum support for you and your mattress so that you experience perfect spinal alignment while you sleep. The standard slat caps are black so we have added grey slat caps to ensure that you know where to place the wider slats. Choose from one of our fabrics: Our Band A fabric, Cotton Effect has a laid-back and fine-textured look that looks like cotton, but it's made from durable polyester fibres Our Band A fabric, Brushed Tweed is made with a brushed herringbone weave that has a cosy wool look and soft 'peach skin' feel. I love how this fluted upholstered bed brings subtle texture and a touch of mid-century style without overwhelming the room. The vertical channels on the headboard catch the light and add interest, while the low-profile frame keeps the look clean and contemporary. It works equally well in Scandi, modern-classic or even a retro-inspired scheme. For a pared-back feel, dress it in crisp white or dove-grey linens with a single pop-colour cushion; for more warmth, layer in velvet cushions and a wool throw that picks up the bed’s mustard tone. Keep bedside tables slim-lined and add a simple table lamp or tripod floor lamp to balance the height of the headboard.

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
