Price History

Description

Our Fern range of furniture helps you to curate a modern, Scandi-inspired home. This compact side table is easy to style in living spaces or bedrooms, and we've made it from a combination of high-quality timbers, including solid oak and pine wood. There's a handy storage drawer and shelf, and we like how the chevron pattern is visible in the wood. We've also coated it in a protective lacquer for reassuring durability. Available in a natural or painted finish, so you can keep your space calm and warm or embrace a subtle injection of colour. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love the John Lewis Fern side table for its timeless, minimalist design and natural oak finish that adds warmth to any space. It’s a versatile piece that works well in both traditional and contemporary interiors, making it a great option for living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallway setups. Practical styling tips include pairing it with greenery or a small table lamp to enhance its organic feel, while using it to hold essentials like books, a cup of tea, or decorative accents. Its tidy size and subtle drawer make it functional without overwhelming smaller spaces, and it’s simple enough to blend seamlessly with other wood tones or colour schemes.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
