Description

Made from light oak wood with an aged effect, this roomy sideboard provides storage for all your entertaining essentials including your favourite china, glassware and table linen. Details include turned legs, angled edges and chiselled detailing at each corner. The beautifully-balanced design has two drawers above rattan-fronted cupboards, each of which has an adjustable shelf. Designed in-house by the design studio, Clemence is an oak and rattan range with antique brass hardware and heritage detailing, elegant turned and fluted details and pillar legs. A soft grey stain adds a refined and aged look to this classic range. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sideboard for its versatile look and practical design. The greyed oak finish gives it a neutral, calming tone that works beautifully in both modern and traditional interiors - think coastal, Scandi, or farmhouse styles. It’s ideal for arranging in living rooms, hallways, or dining areas where you want to combine storage with visual appeal. Practical styling tips include layering with neutral accessories, like woven baskets or simple ceramics, to highlight its natural texture. Using it as a display surface with lamps or plants can soften its structure, making it a stylish yet functional focal point. Overall, this piece offers a great mix of durability and character, making it a timeless addition to many homes.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
