Description

Product Information The traditional Charlotte range combines gently flared scrolled arms and tapered legs for an elegant look with fibre-filled cushions you can really sink into. Environmentally friendly fillingsWe use Quallofil® Blue fibres in our Charlotte range as a more sustainable choice than chemical-based foam fillings. Quallofil® Blue fibres are made using 50% recycled plastic from Plastic Bank; a globally recognised and award-winning solution to stop ocean plastic whilst improving the lives of people living in poverty, who collect the plastic. These fibres give firm, controlled support and are long-lasting so they'll retain the cushion's original appearance instead of becoming squashed and flat over time. Sustainably sourced timberWe make sure Charlotte's timber frames are sourced from carefully managed, sustainable forests. Sustainable manufacturingWe’re proud to work with Westbridge, our manufacturing partner based in North Wales who make our Charlotte range of sofas for us. Westbridge have been making more environmentally friendly choices for over a decade and haven’t sent anything to landfill since 2007. They also continue to work hard to offset their carbon footprint by introducing energy-saving procedures and equipment throughout their factory. A mattress that responds to your every movementThis sofa bed has a pocket sprung mattress which is only slightly less deep than a standard double bed mattress. The springs are individually sewn into their own fabric pockets which is what makes the mattress so responsive as you change position in the night. Suitable for regular use it provides a peaceful night's sleep. Unfolds from sofa to bedStarting as a sofa, the blocks of foam simply fold out to become a mattress, converting the model into a bed. It's the little thingsWe care about our furniture; how it's designed, the materials used and the people who make it. That's why every detail is carefully considered, with more than 20 quality checks, to ensure you're as proud of it as we are. Try before you buyWe're confident in our furniture's quality, but it's always a good idea to check that it's a good personal fit for you. Our Stylist Says

This sofa bed is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and classic interiors thanks to its timeless design and neutral light-leg finish. I love its clean lines and compact form, making it ideal for smaller living spaces or multi-use rooms. When styling around it, consider adding textured cushions in contrasting colours or patterns to bring personality without overpowering its sleek silhouette. A cosy throw can also soften its look, especially if used in a bedroom or guest room setting. Its light legs subtly lift the furniture off the floor, enhancing the sense of space and lightness, which is particularly helpful in rooms that need to feel open and airy. Overall, this piece offers both practicality and style, making it a great choice for modern or transitional interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
