Description

The timeless design of our Button Back bed frame makes it a versatile choice and the subtly curved padded headboard gives a modern edge. We've added button detailing to the headboard and supported the frame with low, turned legs made from high quality wood. There are also supportive sprung slats in the base. Assembly service Our assembly service is included in the selling price for our Made to Order beds. At the same time as delivery, we'll build your new bed and place it in your room of choice. We'll take away all of the packaging too, for recycling. Built with Smart SlatsThis bed frame is designed with wider slats at the shoulders, lumbar and feet. They provide maximum support for you and your mattress so that you experience perfect spinal alignment while you sleep. The standard slat caps are black so we have added grey slat caps to ensure that you know where to place the wider slats. Choose from one of our fabrics: Our Band A fabric, Cotton Effect has a laid-back and fine-textured look that looks like cotton, but it's made from durable polyester fibres Our Band A fabric, Brushed Tweed is made with a brushed herringbone weave that has a cosy wool look and soft 'peach skin' feel. It's really hard-wearing and a brilliant all-rounder Our Band A fabric, Soft Weave has a casual cotton look with a brushed finish that's soft-to-touch and a subtle texture that's created by slight variations in the tones of the woven fibres Our Band B fabric, Soft Touch Chenille is made from a blend of fibres that give it a super-soft feel and added durability Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture before ordering. Pop into one of our shops to see the full range of colours and fabrics on offer. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this button-back upholstered bed in a double size because its clean lines and subtle button detailing give just enough character without feeling fussy. The upholstered frame adds a cosy, tactile layer that works equally well in a pared-back Scandi scheme or a richer, mid-century look. In a neutral room you could pick it out as the focal point with a matching velvet cushion or a contrasting wool throw. Styling tips: keep your bedding simple - think matte linens or fine cotton in whites, greys or muted pastels - so the upholstery remains the star. Pair with tapered wooden legs on your bedside tables and warm metallic lamps to echo the bed’s turned feet. A low-pile rug in a complementary tone under the frame will balance its height and tie the whole area together.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
