Description

A distinctive design, our Bowed bed frame is the perfect centrepiece for your bedroom. Our Bowed range is solid reclaimed wooden furniture designed and produced from sustainably sourced recycled pine. Its curved headboard compliments the solid, smooth lines of the frame. An understated, yet sophisticated design, its solid slats provide a firmer base for your mattress. The sustainably sourced recycled wood is certified by The Forest Stewardship Council under license code FSC-C113407 and originates from discarded shipping pallets, packaging crates and old barns. The furniture is constructed following traditional English joinery methods and the beauty of recycled wood is the genuine natural imperfections that make each piece of furniture subtly one of a kind. We'd like to highlight to customers that as the items are made using reclaimed timber, features such as nail holes and block marks for example, will be visible. Selling Points: Reclaimed furniture made from FSC sustainably sourced recycled wood The recycled wood is seasoned to a nominal moisture content prior to milling Natural imperfections of the recycled wood create one of a kind furniture pieces Water-based finishing materials are used in the painting process English joinery methods are incorporated to create authenticity of each furniture piece Want to see it first? Our Stylist Says

I love this bowed bed frame for its timeless appeal and versatile design. Its warm brown finish makes it a great centrepiece in both modern and traditional interiors, especially those with neutral palettes or natural textures. It works particularly well in minimalist or Scandinavian-inspired bedrooms, where clean lines and understated elegance are key, but it can also add a cosy, rustic vibe when paired with chunky textiles or layered bedding. Practical styling tips include adding a statement headboard cushion or artwork above the bed to soften the look, and choosing bedding in neutral or muted tones to keep the feature of the wood structure intact. This frame’s sturdy yet elegant build makes it a reliable choice that easily adapts to various interior styles.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
