Product Information A curved silhouette. Strong, angular wooden legs. Design details Back cushion details Fibre wrapped foam seats Oak legs Designer's notesThe epitome of mid-century design, our Barbican range offers a retro-inspired option for your home. A distinctive shape with sharp, angled wooden legs and a curving base. Medium: Striking a balance between support and comfort, this range has a medium comfort rating. With a structured design to help retain shape, these sofa cushions retain more of their shape when sat on, and require less plumping. As leather is a natural product, there are natural characteristics on each leather hide used to make our sofas. These could be things like brand marks, insect bites or wrinkles. A large sofa could be made with as many as four hides so there may also be some slight colour variation, however we have strict guidelines to make sure any noticeable marks aren't in a prominent place. These distinctive qualities also mean that no two pieces of leather furniture will be exactly the same. Leather Working Group (LWG) Certified LeatherOwing to variations in computer screen resolution and settings, the fabric you receive may look slightly different to how it appears here. Our Stylist Says

The John Lewis Barbican LHF Chaise is a great choice for adding a sophisticated touch to a living space, thanks to its sleek leather finish and classic silhouette. I love how versatile it is - perfect for contemporary interiors but also pairs well with mid-century or minimalist styles. The dark legs add a subtle contrast, grounding the piece and allowing flexibility with colour schemes and accessories. When styling around it, consider soft cushions or textured throws to soften the leather and create a cosy feel. It works especially well in open-plan living areas where the chaise can be a statement piece, but it also balances beautifully with neutral tones or bold colours, depending on your interior vibe. Practical tip: its robust leather makes it a durable option for busy households, and the angled legs help keep the look light and airy.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
