I’m a fan of the Lulu ceiling light for its clean lines and matte-black frame - it feels more expensive than its budget price suggests. The opal-white shades give a soft, even wash of light, so it works brilliantly as your main overhead fitting in smaller rooms or entrances. Styling-wise, it pairs especially well with modern-Scandi or industrial schemes - think black iron picture frames, pared-back furnishings and pale walls. For best results, fit warm-white LEDs and consider a dimmer switch to adjust ambience. In a dining area, hang it so the lowest point is about 70-80 cm above the table surface, then balance with a table lamp or wall sconce elsewhere to avoid a top-heavy feel.

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
