Description

This is our most sumptuous bed linen and has the highest thread count. Made with only the longest, finest cotton fibres, finished using a satin weave, it brings you the ultimate in smoothness and luxury. 100% Cotton The world’s most widely used natural fibre, versatile cotton makes the perfect bed linen; cool, lightweight, soft and breathable. 1600 Thread count By twisting yarns together before weaving, we were able to create this bed linen’s high thread count. Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch and, typically, the higher the number the softer and smoother the feel. Reassuringly well made At John Lewis & Partners we test every piece of our bed linen to high quality standards of durability, colour-fastness, shape and size retention. So you can always rest easy, knowing you’ve made the right choice. Care instructions We recommend washing this bed linen at 40ºC but it can be washed at 30ºC. Lower temperatures save energy, helping to be kinder to the environment. Please note that pillowcases are available to buy individually and not in sets. Bedding sizes To fit duvet/pillow size (cm) Standard pillowcase, L75 x W50cm Oxford pillowcase, L75 x W50cm (excluding trim) King size pillowcase, L90 x W50cm Double duvet cover, L200 x W200cm King duvet cover, L220 x W225cm Super king duvet cover, L220 x W260cm Emperor duvet cover, L235 x W290cm

Our Stylist Says

I love this bedding because of its classic, luxurious look combined with the superior 1600 thread count cotton, making it both breathable and incredibly soft. It works well in both contemporary and traditional interiors, especially those aiming for a sophisticated and understated feel. For styling, consider pairing it with textured throws or velvet cushions for added depth, and drape it over a well-upholstered bed frame to enhance the plush appearance. To keep the look fresh and crisp, stick to neutral tones or soft pastels, and use sleek, modern bedside accessories for a balanced, elegant bedroom scheme.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
