Description

This roman blind is plain-coloured with a textured weave that makes it an easy go-to option. The blackout lining eliminates light and gives you complete privacy so you can get a sound night's sleep and not be disturbed by the early rising sun in the summer months. Key features: Chain mechanism is fixed on the right-hand side Supplied with easy fit universal brackets Includes safety devices to keep children safe Warm in winter, cool in summer As the blackout lining on this blind blocks out sunlight it helps keep your room cool as well as dark. This 3 layer blackout coating also adds an extra layer of insulation, giving the blind thermal properties which aren’t found on non-blackout blinds. It protects against both heat loss and heat gain, regulating the temperature of your room so you’re kept warm in winter and cool in summer. Safety warning Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate this product. A primary breakaway system is included in this blind which is designed to come apart when undue force is applied to the cord or chains. It's easy to reassemble in the event of the cords or chains being pulled too hard and breaking away accidentally. When fitting your blind, you must fit the safety device provided with the blind to the wall in order to tie up the pull cord safely out of the way of children and pets To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children - cords may become wrapped around a child's neck Move beds, cots and furniture away from any window fitted with a blind that has a side control mechanism, even with a safety device in place Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop More information on child safety can be found on our

Our Stylist Says

I really like this blind for its versatile and contemporary look. The textured weave adds a subtle visual interest without overwhelming the space, making it suitable for a range of interiors-from modern minimalism to cosy traditional settings. It's particularly effective in living rooms and bedrooms where you want reliable blackout properties alongside a clean aesthetic. Style-wise, it pairs well with neutral tones for a sleek finish, or you can add warmth by layering with soft furnishings in textiles and accessories. Practical tips include choosing a simple curtain pole or discreet frame to keep the focus on the texture, and pairing with lighter coloured walls to make the blind stand out subtly. Overall, it’s a smart, understated choice that balances function with a refined design.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
