A reproduction print of Ben Nicholson's 'Still Life', 1945. Glazed, mounted and framed, this print is ready to hang on your wall. Ben Nicholson (1894-1982) studied at the Slade School of Art, 1910-11, then travelled in France, Italy and the USA. His earliest paintings were influenced by those of his father, artist William Nicholson, but by the 1920s he began painting figurative and abstract works inspired by Post Impressionism and Cubism. In 1937, Nicholson helped edit Circle: International Survey of Constructive Art, advocating mathematical precision, clean lines and an absence of ornament. John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
